Merpati plane Evacuated, Closed Kupang's El Tari Airport

Jakarta- The process of evacuation Planes Merpati MA 60 that slipped in El Tari Airport, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) began. For evacuation purposes, the airport closed temporarily.

"Airport will be closed until evakuasinya finished," said Ministry of Transportation Public Kapuspom, Bambang S Ervan told AFP, on Saturday (02/19/2011).

According to Bambang, the evacuations carried out after permission from the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) and the Directorate General of Air Perbuhubungan Kemenhub published. Evacuation can not be done if there is no consent from both authorities.

"Yeah, must be able to NTSC and clearance first from the Air Transportation Directorate General,"said Bambang.

From information he obtained, the aircraft with registration PK-MZJ turned while being driven on the runway (runway) at 06.00 pm. The plane out to runway approximately 15 meters so far.

"The information, power the new aircraft would take off half the time. Well, mungin because there are technical problems, keep the plane veer. But all the passengers survived," he explained.
